The North Penn School District’s (NPSD) Office of School and Community Engagement is the proud recipient of several awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) as part of its 2019 National School Communications Awards Contest.

NSPRA is recognized as the leader in school communication and has honored the best work in school communication for more than 50 years. Each year, hundreds of educators and public relations professionals enter their work in the National School Communications Awards Contest for a chance to earn recognition for their districts and schools. The contest includes three awards: Gold Medallion Award, the top award honoring superior school public relations/communications programs, projects and campaigns; Golden Achievement Award, for exemplary public relations activities, programs, projects and campaigns; and Publications and Digital Media Awards, for outstanding work in all types and forms of education communication and marketing, including print, electronic, video, audio, websites, social media and more.

The NPSD Office of School and Community Engagement earned one Golden Achievement Award and two Honorable Mentions in the Publications and Digital Media Awards. The department was honored for these achievements at the NSPRA 2019 National Seminar in Washington, D.C. in July.

The Golden Achievement Award was earned for the North Penn Community Backpack and School Supply Drive, submitted by Kaitlyn Andrey, NPSD Communications and Development Specialist. NPSD was among 144 schools nationwide to receive this award.

Kaitlyn Andrey also earned an Honorable Mention in the Publications and Digital Media Awards’ external e-newsletter category for “North Penn E-Matters.” Another Honorable Mention in the Publications and Digital Media Awards was earned by Erika Shaedle, NPSD Advertising and Marketing Specialist in the calendar category for the 2018-2019 Activities Calendar, “Celebrate with the North Penn School District.” NPSD was among 24 schools to be recognized in the external e-newsletter category and 23 schools in the calendar category nationwide.

“Communicating with our community is always a priority for North Penn,” said Christine Liberaski, Director of School and Community Engagement. “We are proud of the awards achieved, but even prouder of the student and staff accomplishments that our publications highlight.”

Since 1935, NSPRA has been providing school communication training and services to school leaders throughout the United States, Canada, and the U.S. Dependent Schools worldwide. NSPRA's National School Communication Awards Contest is an outstanding way to earn national recognition for school districts and school communication efforts.

Congratulations to the NPSD Office of School and Community Engagement on these impressive accomplishments.
