North Penn High School (NPHS) has once again been named as one of the top public high schools in the nation by the U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools Rankings coming in at number 1,356 nationally and number 52 in the state of Pennsylvania.

Scoring a 92.38 out of 100, these rankings land NPHS in the top 8% in the national rankings and the top 7% percent in Pennsylvania. Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation and how well they prepare students for college.

“I'm extremely proud of this recognition. Being named as one of U.S. News & World Report's Best High Schools is a true honor,” said NPHS Principal Pete Nicholson. “It is another achievement that reflects the quality of our district's teachers, staff members, students and parents. It also shows the commitment and investment that the North Penn community has put into a quality North Penn education from kindergarten through 12th grade.”

The U.S. News Best High Schools rankings include data on more than 24,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia. Nearly 18,000 schools were ranked on six factors based on their performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college.

In coordination with North Carolina-based RTI International, a global nonprofit social science research firm, U.S. News ranked approximately 17,790 public high schools out of more than 24,000 reviewed. This is the count of public high schools that had a 12th grade enrollment of 15 or greater, or otherwise had sufficient enrollment in other high school grades during the 2017-2018 school year to be analyzed.
